📚Series Review: The Pandemic Sorrow series by Stevie J. Cole

Pandemic Sorrow Series by Stevie J. Cole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This series was way more than I could have expected. I don’t think I’ve ever met characters so broken. Jag’s story was filled with so much pain it literally shattered me. Rush’s story was much different than Jag’s yet so similar. Where Jag tried to numb life, Rush tried anything and everything to just feel something. Stevie J Cole gives fair warning. These novels do describe lots of drug use…but that’s what made the stories so real for me. It may not be for everyone, but these characters would not have been so amazing or their HEAs would not have been as fulfilling without experiencing their struggles along with them.

Roxy’s story exhibits a lot of strength for having grown up around drug abusers which made her the perfect person to help Jag find his way. Her story gives more of her background for those that want to understand her better. Personally, I feel the author did an amazing job in bringing so much life to her in the first book, that I totally understood her and where she was coming from. I adored her tough facade and completely related to her lack of desire to be around people, her preference to isolation.

📚Review: The Knocked Up Plan by Lauren Blakely [Enter Lauren Blakely’s HUGE Giveaway]

From #1 NYT Bestselling author Lauren Blakely, comes a new and sexy romance…THE KNOCKED UP PLAN! A standalone romance told in dual POV, THE KNOCKED UP PLAN is about all of the fun, hotness, and heartfelt emotions that come when a single woman asks her gorgeous, jaded, sworn-to-be-single-forever good friend to get one particular job done. What happens next when he agrees to provide the bun for her oven are lots of hot sexy times and heartfelt moments.

The Knocked up Plan by Lauren Blakely
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ahhhh! Lauren Blakely never disappoints. I fall in love with her characters so easily. Her stories always make heart pitter patter, awe and swoon! The Knocked Up Plan was no different.

The premise itself was enough to intrigue me and once I started I couldn’t stop (I even fell asleep on my couch around three in the morning because I didn’t want to pause my reading). Nicole and Ryder shared such amazing chemistry and I enjoyed every bit of their time together.

Co-workers and practically “sexperts” with their own radio shows, they each have their own take on relationships and sex. Of course, it’s completely opposite. Nicole hasn’t felt the sparks of love and Ryder was burned by it, so the advice they give their listeners is on opposite sides of the spectrum but it fit perfectly with their personalities. What adds so much to the story is the friendship they share. Nicole and Ryder get along very well and hang out together like buddies. She’s sexy but also the kind of girl the guys love to hang out with and Ryder is gentlemanly and pretty hot to look at.

So when Nicole thinks it’s a great idea to use Ryder as a sperm donor instead of the faceless names on a list they both figure it’s a great idea. Ryder is all for it. He can finally give in to the attraction he’s had for her and won’t be tied down once it’s all said and done. Of course we all know that’s not how it works out.

I just adored this story and it’s characters. They made me laugh and melted my heart. They both had so much depth that made them that much more real to me. That’s something I get with every Lauren Blakely book I read. Word after word is pure entertainment and fills this reader with absolute joy!

Review of All I Am: Drew’s Story (A This Man novella) by Jodi Ellen Malpas

All I Am: Drew’s Story by Jodi Ellen Malpas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Finding out this book was coming was a highlight in my life. I’ve missed the world that revolves around Jesse Ward and was completely excited to learn that one his best mates, Drew, was finally going to get his happily ever after.

All I Am is written solely from Drew’s perspective. If you have read the series, this takes place eight years after Jesse and Ava’s story began. His trust issues have him set in his ways and enjoying his pastime at his current club, since The Manor is no longer in business. No attachments has been his way of living but the moment Raya enters his life it’s like she jumpstarted his heart.

It was amazing to see the transformation in him. He was always a good guy and he didn’t deserve what had happened to him years before. It’s no wonder he’s lived his life the way he did. Raya sparked something in him. Her beauty entranced him and the mystery behind her eyes captivated him.

The chemistry they shared was erotic and beautiful. In giving her the detached pleasure she craved, he ended up giving and wanting much more from her than he ever planned on. He didn’t want the strings, any attachments or any other of the messy that comes from more than just the play he’s done over the years. But no matter how hard he fought, the man deep within that only those he’s close with, is craving it. Craving her.

Jodi Ellen Malpas did an outstanding job of writing this novella in a way that it could be enjoy on its own. It’s been a couple years since I read her This Man trilogy and I was able to enjoy Drew’s story without having to go back and re-read any of the previous books. However, I would like to suggest getting to know Jesse Ward if you haven’t already. That is one book boyfriend that gets under your skin with the most pleasurable love to hate/hate to love fascination. He’s one of the most unforgettable characters I have ever come across.

For such a quick read, this story had so much depth and emotion. It was beautifully written (and in some scenes… almost on the verge of being poetic, in my opinion) and a perfect companion for my This Man series collection.

FAVORITE QUOTES:
It’s just a sound, a sound of anticipation that I’ve heard from hundreds of women before her, yet from her mouth it’s the most powerful aphrodisiac I’ve ever encountered.

This woman radiates sex. She’s cryptic. She is temptation personified, and it’s a constant struggle not to grab her and kiss her.

Jesus Christ, this woman could be my downfall. Could make me forget who I am. All I am.

“But I know that every time we’re close, suddenly things are gray. I can’t figure you out. You’re warm and cold. I know what I’m scared of, but what are you scared of, Drew?”
“You.”

“I’m a man touching forty and for the first time in my life, I’m in tatters over a woman. You, Raya.”

If happiness was a chain, it would be platinum with solid hearts between every link and entwined around my swelling heart.
I’m chained, make no mistake, but I’m the most free I’ve ever been.

Haven’t met Jesse Ward?? Be ready for the most alpha, stubborn and bossy book boyfriend you’ll ever meet!

Review: Love Sprung From Hate (Dark Romeo #1) by Sienna Blake [Enter the Release Day Mega Giveaways]

Love Sprung From Hate by Sienna Blake
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was such an amazing modern twist on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. With the bit of a mafia feel to it, it reminded me a bit of the 1996 movie version. It was such a great story that pulled me in from the start. Sienna Blake put such a modern twist on such an incredible classic and then topped it off with bonfire level heat.

Roman Tyrell was born into a one of the most powerful families of Verona and it’s underground (allegedly), but he’s much more than his family name and its reputation. He won my heart from the get-go. I just wanted to hold him, kiss him and keep him…never let him go. He was sexy and dominating but there was a gentleness in him that lies deep beneath the surface. He’s plaqued by his family and reputation and meeting Julianna was like a light at the end of the tunnel that gave him hope.

Julianna Capulet has a career she loves. It’s he whole life. By following in the footsteps of her father into law enforcement, she’s set on making her dad proud by being the best detective she can be. So after unforgettable time spent with a man that rocked her world and left his impression on her soul, she’s at a cross roads. To find out that man is a Tyrell…well, she’s in a tough spot which just add so much to the story and keeps you reading to find out what happens next and how it’s all going to end for them.

This was a great story with amazing heat and I can’t wait for July 13th to find out what comes next. Love Sprung From Hate is a great start to this suspensful series!

The second we’d touched, it sealed her fate.

I wanted her like I’d never wanted a woman before.
I would have her.

He was more beautiful than I remembered. A dark god among mortals.

She had made me feel like I could be different. Because when she had gazed up at me, her honeyed hair spread across the pillow, her soft body naked and open, she gave me a reason to be different.

“You’re playing with fire, little girl.”
“I like the flames.”

Now Available: HOT COP by Laurelin Paige and Sierra Simone

“Filthy, fun, and filled with heart. Hot Cop is going on my re-read shelf.”
Audrey Carlan, #1 New York Times Bestselling Author

Hot Cop, an all-new sexy, standalone from New York Times Bestseller Laurelin Paige and USA Today Bestseller Sierra Simone is available now!!!

SYNOPSIS

From NYT Bestselling Author, Laurelin Paige and USA Today Bestselling Author, Sierra Simone comes a steamy contemporary romantic follow-up to last year’s bestseller P*rn Star.

You have the right to remain sexy.

Anything you say can and will be used to get you in my bed.

You have the right to use my body to give yourself a delirious, life-changing orgasm.

If you have trouble…don’t worry, I’m a bit of an expert in that department.

There’s nothing ‘thin’ about my blue line, if you catch my drift, and trust me, I know how to put those handcuffs to good use.

***

Livia Ward wants a baby before she’s thirty. And even though Officer Chase Kelly is exactly the kind of cocky jerk this librarian has sworn off, he is undeniably hot. Both of them think they can give each other what they want–a few nights of fun for Officer Kelly, a no-strings baby for Livia–but this hot cop is about to learn that sex, babies, and love don’t always play by the rules.

I’m at the steakhouse fifteen minutes early, which is on time in Chase Kelly’s book. I’ve never been late for work or a date a single time in my life; in fact, I’ve always been early, which is a point of pride for me. And Livia walks in at seven on the dot, something that endears me to her immensely, although the moment I register that I, Officer Kelly, am charmed, my mind goes blank.
Just blank.
There is nothing but her.
She walks in on heels that make her legs a mile long, her long hair down in a tumult of soft waves. The maître d’ helps her take off her checkered wool coat, and then I.
Am.
Speechless.
My heart hammers up in my throat as the blood pools deep in my groin. She’s wearing a bright red dress—so fucking short that I’d be able to finger her easily if we were in a booth, which we tragically aren’t. The red sets off the warm undertones of her bronze skin, highlights the deep brown of her eyes. The lines of it hug the delectable curves of her tits, which are just small enough that she can get away without wearing a bra.
My cock thickens as she begins walking toward me, and I can verify that she is definitely not wearing a bra. Oh God, what if she’s not wearing panties either?
I bite back a groan and push back my chair to greet her as she comes to our table, tugging the hem of my sweater down in one smooth move as I unfold myself to help disguise the effect her presence has on me.
As I step forward to greet her, I notice the color high in her cheeks and the way her teeth dig into the soft coral of her bottom lip.
She looks nervous.
That gives me pause. I don’t mind a woman meeting me cold or shy or overly eager, I don’t even mind a case of the first date jitters—since first dates are pretty much all I go on, I see a lot of those.
But nervous—truly nervous—that bothers me a little. Do I make her feel unsafe? Is it my size? My job?
In a split second, I change gears. I can be patient when it comes to the Kelly Trio, and I find that the idea of wooing my nervous little librarian on date after date doesn’t sound tiresome at all…it sounds delightful, actually. A challenge. A test to see if I’m worthy enough to remove all traces of trepidation from her face and fill her expression with eagerness and surrender instead.
And get more time with this fierce, sweet bookworm all to myself.
I lean in to kiss her cheek, careful to angle our bodies so that I don’t press against her with six feet, two hundred pounds of hungry cop. Instead, I anchor her with a firm hand at her elbow, pleased to feel the goose bumps that spread underneath my touch. And then I brush my lips against her cheek, making sure she can feel them, making sure she gets just the tiniest brush of my scruff as I accidentally-on-purpose slide my jaw against hers as I pull away.
She shivers.
I look down into her eyes as I straighten up, and I’m suddenly aware that I’m supporting a lot of weight in my hand, as if her knees are weak from my kiss.
Well done, Officer Good Times!
Her eyes are wide, the pupils so blown and her irises so dark that her eyes are just huge liquid wells of want, and I feel a familiar tug in my groin knowing that I put that look there.
“I forget how big you are,” she murmurs, her head tilted up to look into my face.
I give her my biggest grin and open my mouth, but she cuts me off before I can say it, shaking her head. “I know, I know. I walked right into that one.”
But the ghost of a smile flits across her lips as I help her into her seat and push in her chair.
When I sit across from her and we start looking at our menus, I notice the smile has vanished and the nervous look is back, along with a determined set to her shoulders. The combination of uneasiness and backbone intrigues and worries me at the same time.
“I don’t know what Megan told you,” I say, “but I don’t bite.”
She looks up from the menu, her teeth back to digging into the plump flesh of her bottom lip.
“Well,” I amend, staring at her mouth, “sometimes I do bite. But only when I really, really want to.”

📚Review: Going In Deep (Billionaire Bad Boys #4) by Carly Phillips

Going in Deep by Carly Phillips
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have been waiting for Julian and Kendall’s story since the beginning. This made me so happy!!!

NOTE TO READER: Going in Deep would be more enjoyable if you’re familiar with Jualian and Kendall from their time together in Kade and Lexie’s story, Going Down Easy.

I have wanted this book since meeting Julian and Kendall in the first book of the Billionaire Bad Boys series. There was just something about them that stood out for me. They were both troubled amd made plenty of mistakes that ended up hurting people they cared about, but I knew deep down there was so much more to them and why they were the way they were at the time. The more appearances they made in the following books, the more I could see that their story wasn’t over. I could feel that longing from them both.

I knew, I just KNEW they were bound to get their happy ending and as Kade, Lucas and Derek each got theirs, I prayed and hoped that I would get to see Julian get his. I wanted him to find his redemption and get that peace he so wanted. And sweet Kendall. She deserved so much after having struggled for most of her life. She was bound to land on both feet and find her path in life. I can’t even tell you how happy I was to see them find their way back to each other and rekindle the feelings that were underneath all that turmoil and pain that was left in the wake of their first go around. They both showed so much growth and it was evident they were ready to start over and be the person the other needed them to be. The support, forgiveness and understanding they gave to one another was just beautiful.

Going in Deep gave me the ultimate closure.

FAVORITE QUOTES:
Apparently it had taken one brown-haried, blue-eyed vixen to get under his skin, make him look in the mirror and come to terms with the man he’d become.

“We all make mistakes,” she insisted, her pretty blue eyes begging him to believe.
“We all make choices,” he immediately correcter her.
She inclined her head. “Whatever you want to call them, we’re still entitled to forgiveness.”

“I didn’t think we’d be back together like this,” he said in a gruff voice. One that held a hint of gratitude, too.
“Me, either.” She sunk her hands into his hair at last.
“I won’t take it for granted.”

“Maybe it’s Karma reaching out to bite me in the ass,” Julian muttered. “I used her, hurt her, and now that I can’t live without her, I might have to.

📚 Review: Duke of Manhattan by Louise Bay

Duke of Manhattan by Louise Bay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I became a Louise Bay fan after reading King of Wall Street. Since then I have fallen madly for each of whom I’ve dubbed her Big Apple Hottie. Each male character has made my panties melt with the confidence and power they just ooze. Their alpha tendencies head my blood and each book has provided me with a rush that just turns me on.

All that said, Sam nor Max held a candle to how much Ryder affected me. Maybe it was the British accent. That alone would cause my undergarments to instantly desintegrate. Maybe it was his cool and calm demeaner that just screamed sexy without him even trying. Or maybe, just maybe it was the passion he had for his company and the love he had for his family and that he was willing to do the one thing he swore he’d NEVER do to save it all; which turned out to be the best thing that could have ever happened to him.

Scarlett was so easy to like. She was a girl’s girl and so confident, intelligent and had no fears in the bedroom. She owned her sexuality without ever being slutty or fake. Her sexiness was so natural it made it difficult for Ryder to ignore and resist the easy and comfortable connection between them.

Ryder wasn’t looking for love. He enjoyed the variety of women that have been around all his life. He loved sex too much to settle for just one woman his whole life. But being around Scarlett was so easy that his usual facade would practically disappear (just like my undies). The transformation in Ryder was so gentle yet exponential. He was always a good guy, but Scarlett made him that much better.

Scarlett was such a tough cookie all on her own. She’s had a failed relationship and the only thing she loves is her company. It’s become her purpose and helped her move forward after her hearbreak. She holds just as much passion for her company as Ryder does which is a shared trait that adds to their connection and is why they were both willing to go along with the agreement.

What I loved so much about this couple was that things were so easy with them that they never really had to pretend when it came to affection. It was all so natural that they had to remind themselves that it was all fake but they were only kidding themselves. It was obvious to everyone else how NOT fake things were between them. They were just so freaking cute.

I can’t NOT mention their steamy moments. Those two had some seriously nuclear level heat between them. That bedroom action was H.O.T!… but I’ll leave it at that so you can find out for yourselves.

This was such a great book and I can’t wait to ready more from this author.

FAVORITE QUOTES:
The memory of her face, her hair, her body – it had all stayed with me in a way that I wasn’t used to. It was almost as if we’d known each other longer than just a few hours. She’d touched me like she knew me.

If I was going to fake-marry someone, I could have done a lot worse. Scarlett King was clever, beautiful and f*cking fantastic in bed.

“Clean enough?” I slid my food from his hand, braced my hands on the side if the bath and stood. “Because I want to get a little dirty.”

F*cking Scarlett King was my new favorite thing to do. The more sex we had, the better it got – and it had been pretty damn good to start off with.

“Whatever it is that you’re afraid of, I’ll stand between you and it my whole life,” he said.

“But I’m scared of us. Of me. Of my choices. Of losing you.”

“You’ll never lose me,” he said.

I’d never have a problem kneeling before my duchess, but there’d never be a time when I wasn’t in charge when it came to her orgasm.

 NMST Review ←

Henley Rose and a hot car go together like peaches and cream, like fine Scotch and a long, dirty night. Which means working with her was like walking into the Garden of Eden every single day. It was a test of willpower because the woman could craft a car as if it were an erotic dance.

Not a striptease.

Not an in-your-face pelvis thrust.

But a beautiful fucking ballet of a woman seducing machine. Those hands, the way she wielded tools, the intensity in her focus—it was sensual, and it was sinful, and it was this man’s fantasy made flesh.

Imagine what it was like working with her for one, hard-on year.

I mean, hard year.

I survived the challenge because she had talent to spare. And I never treated her differently because she was a woman, or because I thought about her naked an obscene amount of the time. I treated her like anyone else—specifically, all the people I work with who I never ever imagine in anything less than full-on Siberian winter garb, complete with the thermals and Michelin Man coat.

“Black heart still intact.” I tap my sternum. “Same model as before.”

“I’d have thought you’d get an upgrade by now. Faulty parts and all.”

“No recall needed on the ticker. It works just fine in this cruel bastard.” I say, reminding her of the words she’d uttered the day she stormed out.

She arches a brow. “Shame. You should have let me replace it. I’m good at making all sorts of clunkers run better.”

Jesus Christ. She still takes no prisoners. “I’ve no doubt you have all the tools to fix anything, and if you couldn’t find the right one, you’d use a blowtorch.”

She adopts an expression of indignation. “There’s nothing wrong with using a blowtorch,” she says, taking extra time on the first syllable.

How the hell did I ever last with this woman? Before I can even fashion a comeback, she taps her toe against the tire on Wagner’s car. “I see you still like to make your cars with big, manly wheels.”

I roll my eyes then make a give it to me now motion with my hands. “All right, Henley. Deliver the punchline.”

She bats her lashes. “What punchline?”

“Big? Manly? You’re going to say it’s some sort of compensation thing going on. That’s what you always said about the guys who wanted the biggest cars with the biggest wheels.”

She smirks. “Was I wrong in my assessment?”

I laugh. “I don’t know. I didn’t check to see how that added up for them.”

“Nor did I. My focus was always on the work.”

“As well it should have been.”

“That’s what you taught me.”

“I’m glad you learned that lesson.”

“I learned so many lessons from you.”

📚Review: Faking It (Book Boyfriend #2) by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde

Faking It by Carly Phillips & Erika Wilde
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Every now and then, it’s extremely refreshing to come across a story that is just so sweet and swoon-worthy that your heart just melts and by the end of the story you’re just a ball of warm, loving goo.

That is what Faking It did for me. I don’t alway need my Hero to be redeemed or changed. Sometimes you just want the guy to be a good guy from the start and Max Sterling was all that and more. A complete and total gentlemen with a big heart, Max Sterling had me swooning and ready to rip my panties right off the bat.

Gosh, he was so damn sexy. The way he was with Hailey, I couldn’t help but get jealous. The way he calmed her fears and insecurities just had me gushing. It’s been so long since I’ve melted so easily for the characters in a story and Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde gave me the perfect reason to do just that.

Hailey ran a successful matchmaking business and Max was the agent helping her locate the perfect locale for expanding her office space. In the span of just a few months, they’ve quietly lusted after each other and remained respectful and professional when they were around each other. But that all changes when he finds out she’s available. From there, he’s totally up for taking the fake fiance role to the next level and she’s completely on board.

In getting to know each other, the grow much closer and Hailey trusts him with her reasons for the charade and by revealing the insecurities she’s lived with since she was young. And he takes it on as his duty to protect her and change that by doing everything in his power to make her feel sexy.

Gah, that man. Gets me wet just thinking about him again. He was a total gentleman on the streets and a total beast in the sheets. Oooh, I get shivers just remembering it all.

FAVORITE QUOTE:
“Greedy girl. You can have both the whipped cream and the chocolate sauce…as long as I get to eat your cherry.”

“I kind of feel like I’m back in high school and the hottest guy on campus just noticed me.”
“I’ve more than noticed you, sweet girl.”

“That pretty mouth of yours has some begging to do, and I’m ready to hear it.”

“You always have these kinds of erotic dreams?”
“Mostly since meeting you,” she admitted.

“How do you want me?”
“Every fucking way I can have you,” he answered automatically, and meant it in more ways that just this physical act. “But right now, I’ll take you just like this.”

📚Review: Damnable Grace (Hades Hangmen #5) by Tillie Cole

Damnable Grace by Tillie Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I get when my precious Hangmen return. Each story is gripping. Filled with emotion, passion and plenty of action and suspense, I get everything I could possibly want in a story. I couldn’t have imagined what I would get from AK’s tale and the emotions that flooded me were truly intense.

AK or Xavier Deyes started out as a bright eyed boy that looked up to his big brother and wanted to follow in his footsteps. After years in the military, he finds his way to the Hades Hangmen MC. Just like the other men of the club, he too, has a past that haunts him, but he’s always been one of the jovial ones that keeps the mood light. But everyone has their days and he’s approaching his.

Determined to save the red head, Phebe, we met toward the end of Rider’s story in Deep Redemption, he finds himself revisiting all the pain of his past as he helps Phebe recover from the life she lived and the trauma she endured.

With new foes and an even more twisted villain, the Hangmen have their work cut out for them; but to see AK and Phebe both support each other as they heal from present and past wounds, it was absolutely beautiful.  The connection they shared wasn’t just in the attraction and pull but it was also a shared sense of guilty.  Not having been able to protect the ones they loved dearly. That failure has left a mark on them that they recognize in each other.  It was sad, yet beautiful.

Each story progresses in the timeline for the Hangmen while giving us a new and refreshing look and the guys and their women. Tillie Cole even gives us a peak and Flame and his growth; which is exponential from his story in Souls Unfractured. I can tell that there is so much more to come from these guys and the bad guys they come up against. I just know it’s going to be even more amazing and nail biting.

FAVORITE QUOTES:
“Think of your face like the sky. The freckles, the stars, only make the sight more worth looking at.”

For the first time in a long time, I didn’t feel so f*cking alone. All because of Red.
Red and her f*cking face of freckles.

“AK . . . I want you . . . to ownme.”

“I am at peace.” Her eyebrows furrowed. “Does that make sense? That you bring me peace?”
“Yeah,” I said and, as I watched her face, I realized she did the fucking same to me. “You give me peace too.”

“I love you, Xavier Deyes. I love you more than I knew was possible. You are my grace. You are my redemption.”

“The devil’s man with the angel eyes.” I breathed. He breathed. We kissed. Broke apart. “The damned souls who together found grace.”
