Matthew Hamilton, possible future President of the United States and my first crush, wants to kiss me.
If only Matt Hamilton was really running for President. Someone with real goals to make the country great and had an amazing body to drool over. THAT’S who I’d vote for. Not only was this a romance story, but I felt a bit inspired. With the turmoil we’re seeing these days, with regards to our politics and politicians… Mr. President was a story that brought freshness to my reading list. It provided angst, heat and passion. It was such a great story that engulfed me from the start!
But he could be my president.
He was my first crush.
He is my boss, and my candidate.
And right now he is my very breath because nothing has ever felt as exciting to me as this man, this man in this moment, sipping coffee, leaning back in his chair, watching me with such lazy eyes-as if he has no intention of going anywhere
Matt Hamilton is a Legacy. His father having served as President of the United States was well known and loved. He would always proudly announce to anyone that would listen that his son would be President some day. Matt never had aspirations to pursue the Presidency, but he saw that our country needed a chance and he had ideas that would make it great again. Gah, I feel like I’m working on his campaign and getting sidetracked. Seriously, I’m not into politics… At. All, but this story brought it all to life for me. I was wishing so desperately that I really could #VoteHamilton.
But not only was Matt Hamilton an impassioned candidate, he was an extraordinarily passionate man. Reminded of a young girl’s promise, he invites Charlotte to join his campaign team and sees her potential and fresh ideas as a way to move away from the standard platforms and make new headway that will make a difference, what he didn’t expect was for her to ignite a completely different fire in him. One that could easily out burn his political agenda.
She grounds me. She obsesses me. She fuels me. This woman not only makes me want to be a great man, she makes me want to be the best goddamn president that ever lived. She’s what I never knew I wanted and have discovered that I need.
Seeing the toll the presidency can have on a family, he has it set in his mind that he won’t allow room in his life for both. But having Charlotte in his vicinity tests his resolve to maintain that line he’s drawn.
The sexual tension between Matt and Charlotte was intense and only grew as the story progressed. Charlotte was smitten with Matt Hamilton when she was 11-years-old. That crush has lingered ever since. And now that she’s joined him on the campaign trail, working side by side with him that crush gets more intense. The closer they get, the hotter they get. Secret rendezvous, stolen glances and quick brushes against the other are what kept them going and only intensified their story for me. They know they’re playing with fire, but they just can’t resist.
“I may be the next President of the United States! I’ll be damned if I don’t have what I want,” he growls, “and I want you. I not only want you, I need you. No matter what I’m doing, I’m thinking of you. No matter who I’m with, I would rather they be you…”
Man, this story was just so damn intense, captivating and unforgettable. I don’t know how I’m going to make it while I wait for the next installment of their story…but I sure as hell will.
