ABOUT THE BOOK
His family’s gym has produced a roster of mixed martial arts legends, but so far Kieran Kavanagh hasn’t followed in their footsteps. After a brawl lands him in jail, Kieran is assigned to work at a center for at-risk youth. Though given a second chance, Kieran’s simply going through the motions—until he meets one very special kid, Shea Doherty, and falls hard for her very beautiful, very grown-up big sister, Fiona. The trouble is, Kieran’s best opening moves are getting him nowhere fast.
Fiona Doherty has too many responsibilities to fool around, especially now that she has custody of Shea. Sure, she’d love to find a devoted partner. But she won’t jeopardize her sister’s happiness—or risk revealing her tortured past—on a love-’em-and-leave-’em type of guy like Kieran . . . so it’s up to him to prove her wrong. As Fiona spends more time with Kieran, she starts to see a softer side of the reckless warrior. Now she must admit that when it comes to the possibility of real love, well . . . there’s a fighting chance.
I just knew I was going to love Kieran’s story. He was the mysterious brother only mentioned in the previous book; which made me want to know more about him, and I have to say that I think he’s my favorite of all the brothers.
Growing up in such a close knit loving family, Keiran makes a few mistakes that results in jail time, so when he’s freed he has the simple goal of getting his life back on track, finding a good woman and making his family proud.
Fiona is sweet and kind and has a lot on her plate. Caring for her younger sister and running a business doesn’t leave much time for herself and she’s made terms with that but when this super hot and hulky guy comes into her shop, she’s smitten. And everywhere she turns he’s there. And when she finds out that he’s at the community center where her sister spends time after school, she’s a bit taken aback. She leary of him being near Shea but she sees that they’ve bonded in a way that’s rare. With Shea’s special needs, she doesn’t take to people and knowing that Shea has connected to someone so quickly, she’s eager to help that little relationship thrive.
Saving a Legend was such a great story about redemption. Not just for Kieran but for Fiona as well. They both had pasts they needed to come to terms with and the underlying connection they had with each other as well as Shea helped tell a very memorable story. Filled with passion and emotion, I got everything I expected out of this story. And I just LOVE the Kavanagh family. They are so loving and strong and supportive. Each of their sons is a man any woman would be lucky to have. I can’t wait to find out which brother will be featured in Becoming a Legend!!
