black release dayI am loyal, but I will betray you.
I am strong, but I have scars.
I am an angel, but the devil.
I met her when I was sixteen and she was a breath of fresh air. She swooped in, making me smile. But then she left, taking my next breath with her.
Her smile could light up a room, making my black heart pitter patter.
I found her again ten years later, with a syringe in her arm.
Blood coming from between her legs.
She was broken and I was glad she was broken. She wouldn’t think less of me and my damaged ways.

Cool-Text-150792200679458 Yet again, TL Smith has produced a novel so intense, raw, gritty, confronting and dark that we were held captive from beginning to end. A highly emotional read we didn’t know weather to laugh, cry or just simply hold our breath. And the damn ending…….All we can say is……We don’t even know what to say it left us speechless……TL again you have completely flawed us with your uniqueness and ability to draw out so many emotions within ourselves in this amazing novel. We absolutely loved it and cannot wait for more!! – Bloggers From Down Under

Black is my favorite so far from TL! I was addicted right from the start, definitely worth taking a chance on Black, its gut wrenching beautiful!! – Author Lila Rose, USA best seller

An tumultuous series of events that will leave your head spinning and your heart bursting – My Persons Books

Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars
POV: Hers & His / 1st person
Naughty Factor: 3 out of 5

Rose and Black met in school. Rose was the popular girl and Black was the loner with a bad reputation. But for a short period in time, they were close. Out of nowhere, Rose befriends Black and becomes the light in Black’s dark world…until she never came back to school.

Since that time, Black has made a name for himself in the criminal element. He’s now the man you don’t cross. Feared by everyone, he’s the one they call when a job needs done and he was totally intense. Eternally broody with a no nonsense attitude, he keeps his life private and isolated. But he stumbles upon a familiar face and ends up getting tangled into Rose’s problems and tries extremely hard to stay out of it and away from her.

Rose finds herself in an unfamiliar place with a man that is surprisingly helping her out. She doesn’t know the who or the why and she takes the opportunity to get her life straight and handle the problem(s) that have plagued her for years. She thinks that Black may possibly be her black knight, but he’s insisting that he doesn’t want to be involved and she should stay away from him because he’s dangerous.

This story delivered an great storyline with amazingly strong characters. Once Rose was back on her feet, she was strong, determined, resilient and every bit a fighter should be. She didn’t let her troubles deter her. And Black, though he tries to be eternally broody, he can’t help to show Rose that deep down, he has an generous and giving heart…even though he denies it at every turn.

And don’t get me started on the ending that I was NOT expecting. Whoa!! Talk about keeping me hanging. I’m soooo looking forward to reading book 2 and find out what happens.

This has got to be my most favorite of T.L. Smith’s work. It had all the elements I could have possibly wanted: handsome men, a suspenseful story and a sparkingly heated connection between the characters.

So worth the read…
