WARNING: You should read King and Tyrant before starting Lawless.  There are parts of the Bear’s story-line that are mentioned from the previous books and you’ll have a better understanding of it all having read them.

I just can’t seem to get enough of the characters in this series.  I fell in love with them when I read King and I fall madly and deeply in love with them with each book release.  Bear and Thia’s story was such a great addition to Ray and King’s.

My first impression of Bear, when he was initially introduced in King, was that he wasn’t a pretty decent guy.  Especially being a part of a notorious MC.  He was the typical biker that lived by his own rules, but he knew true loyalty and had a deep brotherhood bond/friendship with King and Preppy.  He was a man that relied on that friendship just as much as they did.

Having stood up to his father and President of the Beach Bastards in Tyrant, he proved once more that he was a man of character.  Even though he lived by the rules of the club, he was going to draw the line at the way his father was running the club and the downward spiral they were heading. He stood up for his friends, even though he knew it was putting his life at risk.  That showed his strength.

Thia was such a great heroine in this story.  Though young, she was so much wiser beyond her years. She was a bit of a free spirit but in no way was she “flighty”.  She was self-reliant, independent and strong. She wasn’t afraid of working hard and her strength helped her get past an experience that would make most people crumble.  She was such a strong woman and a worthy and admirable female for Bear to claim.

The two of them together was so sweet and entertaining.  At times, it was like Bear was a teenage boy and Thia was a grown and wise woman. They balanced each other out in such a perfect way.

Lets not forget the icing on the cake with this book.  We get more KING and even a taste of Preppy’s memory to remind us how much he’s missed.  Gosh, how I miss Preppy.  He is my all time favorite supporting character.

I dreaded reaching the end of this book because I knew there was still more and I was going to have to wait before I could get my hands on it…but that’s OK.  The first part of Bear and Thia’s story was just enough to satiate my appetite…FOR. NOW.

I look forward to the release of Soulless so I can get more of these characters and their story.  TM Frazier did an amazing job of continuing this great series.  Her writing is so good and the characters are so lovable, likable and lifelike.  Their sarcasm alone keeps me entertained.  I love sarcasm with my humor.  February 23rd can’t come fast enough.
