Every choice you make in life comes with a consequence, which dictates the outcome of your future.

I was once on top, I was living the life I dreamt of, I had everything I could possibly hope for. I was happy, satisfied, content…until one night.

One off day.

One moment in time I wish I could take back. My biggest regret.

The once bright future I possessed vanished and in its place a dark world of self-hatred and loathing encompassed me.

People like to celebrate the day they were born, I like to celebrate the day my soul died.

This is my story of repentance.

Oh, my poor Kace.  I knew, from reading The Bourbon Series, that Kace was going to be an unforgettable story.  Kace was always so broody and dark.  We were given but a taste of his history in the Jett Girl novels and I was so happy to see him find his peace.

As an up and coming boxing contender, his life was on a path of greatness.  Kace “The Haze” Haywood worked hard to earn his ranking and was the fighter to be feared…until it all came crashing down on him.  In a moment of weakness, he let the darkness overtake him and it resulted in something that left him living with guilt that he’s shouldered every day since.

Determined to live life without enjoyment and refusing to accept anything good, he’s convinced that he’s undeserving of happiness or love.  His friendship with Jett remains as strong as ever but now that he’s helping Jett open the community center, the guilt becomes even stronger.  How can he help people with second chances if he feels he doesn’t deserve one.  His feeling of being unworthy starts to take its toll.

Lyla has wanted Kace since the moment they met.  She’s persistent in her pursuit but she reaches a point where she’s only willing to fight so much. Not only is she beautiful, but she has a kind and loving heart.  She’s had troubles in the past that affected her deeply but it only made her a stronger person.  She’s worked hard to be independent and live life on her terms.  Seeing Kace suffer in his darkness, she wants nothing more than to save him.  She witnesses the pain and tries to do what she can to help him see that no matter what he believes of himself, he’s a good man with a big heart; but he’s not willing to accept that and it only causes the rift between them to grow.

But when he gets to that moment when he decides to let it all go?? Oh… I cried for him.  I cried for the weight he carried on his shoulders, the pain he held on to and the guilt he lived with.  After getting the full story, I can say that I fell in love with Kace more with each page I read.  And the cherry on top??  Getting a little more Goldie.  That’s girls comical sassiness was just the icing on the cake.  She is such a character and absolutely adore her.

I’ve waiting so long for this book and am a truly happy reader now that I’ve had the pleasure of reading it. YAY for Jett, Goldie, Lyla and Kace.  They just make me want to take a trip to NOLA and pretend they’re there with me. 😉

00Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
