A Lighter Shade of Blue by Shyla Colt
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Shadow ❤. He was so dreamy!!
Born and raised in the life of the K.O.C; he was a biker through and through. Not only was he a perfect alpha type, he was tender & sweet. He’s had his sights on Blue for years but her callous sister got in the way of that long ago. Years pass and he felt Nalley has the chance to step up and stake his claim.
Blue also grew up in the life and is well aware of the biker ways but having a sister like Calla, she’s had to take on responsibilities to make up for what her sister lacks and that puts her in a position where she has to leave her life behind and is thrust back into the biker world. She loves the life but has been striving to find her place. For years she’s been stuck between that world and the world of civilian life bad she’s not sure where she truly belongs but her loyalty to her family and the club will ways come first.
The story was good and I liked the characters. The only reason I wasn’t able to give it five stars was because of the inconsistencies I found throughout the story. Like at the end of Spun, Wizard and Nev had a son but in this book they had a daughter (same name). There was a part in the climax of the story that Shadow knew something that he couldn’t have known and then when it was time for that knowledge, he was trying to figure it out. I wasn’t happy about that.
Overall, I enjoyed it and still managed to fall in love with the hero and give props to the heroine’s strength.

Shyla Colt grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, but has lived a variety of different places thanks to her wanderlust, interesting careers, and marriage to a United States Marine. She’s always loved books and wrote her very first novel at the age of fifteen. She keeps a copy of her first submission letter on her desk for inspiration.
After a lifetime of traveling, she settled down and knew her time had come to write. Diving into her new career like she does everything else, with enthusiasm, research and a lot of prayers, she had her first book published in June of 2011. As a full-time writer, stay at home mother, and wife, there’s never a dull moment in her household.
She weaves her tales in spare moments and the evenings with a cup of coffee or tea at her side and the characters in her head for company. A self-professed rebel with a pen. Her goal is to diversify romance as she continues to genre hop, and offer up strong female characters.
